National Republicans are calling out a Democrat challenging South Texas Republican Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz after Fox News reported that he once videotaped himself defiling President Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and posted the video to social media.

As first reported by Fox News last week, Democrat Congressional candidate Bobby Pulido videotaped himself urinating on President Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016. Pulido posted the video to his Instagram account with the caption “When you gotta go, you gotta go” in a now-deleted post.

“Bobby Pulido is an insane lunatic who belongs nowhere near Congress. He’s better off ending his ill-fated vanity campaign now and saving himself the embarrassment of losing next year,” said Reilly Richardson, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee.

De La Cruz also criticized Pulido’s conduct, saying it rendered him unfit to serve in Congress.

“Bobby Pulido exposed his genitals and urinated on a tribute to President Trump in one of the busiest streets in America, where thousands of women and children pass by at all hours — then tried to hide it. If he’s unfit to perform at a quinceañera, he has no business in Congress,” tweeted De La Cruz

Despite fawning media coverage from legacy outlets such as the New York Times, which described Pulido as a “moderate” in a recent profile, Pulido has a long history of using extreme and inflammatory rhetoric.

In October, the Washington Reporter reported on Pulido’s history of controversial statements, which include calling Trump voters “racist”, vulgar insults about police officers, and support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

President Trump carried Congressional District 15, the South Texas district which Pulido is seeking to represent, by 18 points in the 2024 General Election.
